Route: Hanoi – Halong – Ho Chi Minh – Cu Chi – Mekong delta
Upon arrival Hanoi airport, you will be pick up by Lighten Travel staff then transfer to your hotel in Hanoi city center. Have a welcome dinner at a nice restaurant. Overnight in Hanoi.
You will begin in charming Hanoi, Vietnam's artistic and intellectual capital. You will explore the fascinating Old Quarter and its hundreds of specialty shops selling silk clothing, lacquer ware, embroidered linens, furniture, bamboo, cooking utensils, ceremonial objects and more. You can also shop for impressive modern art in the city's numerous galleries. Also, you'll visit Hanoi's main cultural attractions, including the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, his house on stilts, the One Pillar Pagoda, the Fine Arts Museum and the Temple of Literature. You will have an overnight stay
After breakfast in Hanoi, embark on the 4-hour drive to Halong Bay (20 minute stop along the way.) Arrive at the jetty around noon for check-in and a basic briefing on the experience. After boarding the boat, enjoy lunch while cruising along the calming waters. In the afternoon, enjoy sightseeing, activities (depending on each boat’s itinerary), or just spend some time relaxing on board. Towards the end of the day, the boat sets anchor for the night among the karst formations. Dinner is served on board. Overnight on Halong Bay.
Enjoy a memorable morning in the middle of the bay. For early risers, enjoy an unforgettable sunrise amongst the karst formations. Breakfast will be served on board while the vessel cruises slowly through the magnificent rock formations back towards port. Disembark and transfer directly to Hanoi airport for flight to Ho Chi Minh in the evening.
Arrival Ho Chi Minh airport, being pick up to hotel for check in. You are free at leisure time.
8.00 am you will be picked up by Lighten Travel tour guide at the hotel’s lobby to Cu Chi Tunnels. Leaving the hustle and bustle of Saigon behind we journey 2 hours west towards the Cambodian border bound for the Cu Chi Tunnels.
Excursion Cu Chi Tunnels; an underground tunnels network constructed by Vietnamese fighters during the struggle for independence. It took about 25 years to build this underground city, which has living rooms, kitchens, hospitals, weapon factories, storage facilities and command center. The tunnel system was an excellent way for the Vietcong to move around the countryside undetected by the Americans and home to around 10,000 people who lived underground for several years.
Have lunch at a local restaurant, then we drive back to Ho Chi Minh City arriving at approximately 14.00pm. Continue to explore the city in the afternoon.
Your first visiting is Notre Dame Cathedral: Located in the heart of the city and it was built by the French in the late 1877s. Notre Dame is not just the oldest Christian church of Vietnam but also a unique and excellent architecture of Saigon. Then move to General Post Office (Designed by Gustav Eiffel, the Post Office is a testament to the French presence in the late 1800s. The look and feel of this grand building is like an elegant railway station. You'll stroll through the city's main shopping boulevard with fashionable boutiques and hill tribe crafts, high quality linens and house-wares. You will have an overnight stay in HCMC.
At: 08:00 am Lighten Travel will pick up you at hotel’s lobby for the transfer to Ben Tre about 85km far from Ho Chi Minh city (approx. 2 hours driving). Ben Tre is a famous land of coconut palms. This place was nearly destroyed by Allied bombing during the war; and nowadays, Ben Tre is a destination for tourists who are interested in the truly Vietnam with friendly people and beautiful countryside. Take a boat trip around the river. We enjoy our sight-seeing along the way and stop to see the local people making bricks, salts, coconut candy…. After that, we keep on boating to Cai Son & Nhon Thanh creeks to see some families making mats. We also take motor cart (xe loi) passing the rice fields and vegetable plains… We have our lunch at midday a local house then relax for a while.
Our afternoon activities are taking rowing-boat along water palm creek, boating along Cai Coi creek… and our boat trip ends at our bus stop. Back to Ho Chi Minh city. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh.
There is no activity planned for today so you are free to go for souvenir shopping until transfer to the HCMC airport for your departing flight.
